She LOVES it. My 10 year old has this thing in her ear so much, I think she must have super-glued it in.
I think the sound is perfect, and I can pick up a lot of radio stations. I have been using my walkman for a couple of weeks now, it has met every expectation I had in this walkman.The sound is excellent, I do miss that it does not have a clip to fasten on to my jeans. So I just put it in my pocket.
I paid extra to get it overnight because I was going out of town and wanted to listen on the plane. Changing CDs didn't accomplish anything.
Get your act together Sony. The radio played, but who cares.
This product is a total piece of cheap garbage. Totally useless.
You used to be a good company with quality control. I would expect Sony to have a decent mid-priced Walkman.
I played one CD with brand new Monster batteries and then it stopped.
Music sounds wonderful and I like having an am/fm radio. I listen to books on cd and I have found this player to be very nice with the sound choices. This is a very nice unit except it uses batteries real fast. I don't use the ear buds.
The instruction manual is fairly clear as well. The features work reliably. You can preset up to twenty FM stations and you can preset up to 10 AM stations--but this won't pick up AM stations very well unless they're located relatively close to where you are. I strongly suggest you purchase a better quality headset or earphones that will be more comfortable. This Walkman by Sony offers music lovers the opportunity to listen to music files stored on a CD-R, a regular CD (of course), a CD-RW--AND there's even a digital AM and FM radio tuner.
(I have to take off one star for that--sorry). This Walkman uses two AA batteries and you get a good amount of play time out of the batteries if you pick good ones. Overall, music lovers will be very pleased with this affordable Walkman. The quality of the sound is excellent; and it can handle quite a few presets for different radio stations. The Walkman does have "playback modes" but I rarely use them so I can't comment on that. The controls are rather small so you need to be careful of how you touch them with your fingers.
While this lacks certain features that a music aficionado might want (like the ATRAC system that some CD players have), this Walkman is really a very good choice for most people including myself. It weighs barely more than seven ounces--great. Finally, this type of ear phone set hurts my ears almost from the very start of listening to a CD on this Walkman. I have more than one Walkman but this is the one I use most often for when I am "on the go;" it's the one I don't mind if it accidentally gets a little bit banged up over time. Unfortunately, I noticed some disappointments. The controls also make it easy to do basic things such as adjusting the sound, starting a CD and stopping it.
However, that's still good for this price range. At first glance the controls on the Walkman itself appear slightly confusing but after about five minutes tops you learn all the important and most commonly used functions.
